oh, oh, OH!
Chloë went number two THREE times today, all before noon, all normal, and unassisted! This is even better than the other day. Today is the day I really should have photographed her poop. But once again, I held back. Here's to hoping pooping becomes a normal, every day activity, so it can once again be relegated to the realms of grossness.

so sad
we've discovered something really quite sad. while Chloë adores Kyra, and enjoys watching her, and loves to pet her, and gets the biggest kick of when Kyra licks her hands--she laughs like there's no tomorrow--Kyra is not such a big fan of Chloë. You wouldn't notice it if you didn't live with us. Kyra is really a very sweet, affectionate dog. A good dog. However, once Chloë goes to bed for the night, Kyra becomes an even BETTER dog, she's so much happier, and sociable, and loving. Actually comes to you to be petted. When Chloë wakes up, she tries to sleep in corners where we don't see her, and when we do notice her, she escapes through the dog door and sleeps outsides. Once in a while, a few times a day, she humors us and lets Chloë play with her, but only because we beg her. We're hoping once Chloë is a few months older, and starts dropping food on the floor, Kyra will see the light.

chloё loves to eat
in the last couple of months Chloё has definitely become much more passionate about nursing. She knows she's going to get the freshest milk when I unzip my sweater and she is NOT a patient person at ALL. Sometimes if she drinks too fast she'll just pretend to be eating so I don't finish our nursing session. She smiles and coos because she knows I know she knows she's done. I find it all very endearing and can't get enough of it. I love it that I can nurse her, and as she gets older, and the months go by, I have to admit that I'm not exactly looking forward to weaning. It's our special time, and I treasure it.

i love poop
yes, I know, this post title is disgusting, but I cannot emphasize how much I love the fact that Chloё pooped for the first time in over 4 months ALL ON HER OWN.** It is definitely brag-worthy, and exciting, so much so, I almost took a picture, but something told me that would be crossing the line. Josh already can't get over the fact that I mention Chloё's poop problem to everyone and anyone who'll listen, I think if there was a picture he might never let me live it down. Never mind the fact that in years to come, if said picture surfaced, poor Chloё would be mortified. Seriously, before baby entered our life, I really could not imagine how much excitement could come from baby poop. I'm sure other parents feel the same way I do, especially in those first few precious weeks. For me, the poop monitoring (and excitement!) has continued for much longer than I ever thought possible. Either way, I am VERY excited by today's development. So much so that I am proud to say: I love poop.
** loooong story, but despite not being able to do it on her own, she did poop regularly prior to this monumental event.

thank you, Dr. Weissbluth!
I don't want to jinx myself, so this is all I'm going to say. Though, I would totally plant a big, wet kiss on Dr. Weissbluth's bald head were I to visit Chicago anytime soon.
