cuteness

today Chloë had a playdate with Allison. While Caitlin and I gabbed about nothing and everything, the two little pumpkins played. It was business as usual for the little ones. Allison stole Chloë's toys from her hands, and Chloë cried--multiple times; They looked at each other and talked, then they grabbed each other's faces, and stared in awe. The new game was Allison feeding Chloë some puffs--it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Allison was so proud of herself, and just so excited. It must have been SO much fun, because she then decided it was time to feed me. Those puffs are really very bland. By 6pm both girls were tired, hungry and whiny. Before Caitlin and Allison left, the two girls decided they wanted to nurse. We sat there talking as the girls ate, and I think they knew what the other was doing--the same thing they were--because every few seconds one of them would pull away and look at the other. Again--the cutest thing I've ever seen! All in all, a great way to start the weekend!

babies at play

Jess and Reagan came over for a playdate on Monday and the girls had fun staring at each other, and at one point Reagan fell onto Chloë's lap-at first Chloë was amused, but within a few seconds she burst into tears. It was all very cute, despite the tears.

Chloë kind of amused by the situation.

Chloë totally not amused anymore.

a very tutu playdate

today, on our second day of playing Stay At Home Mom, we had an amazing, truly magical, playdate with Caitlin and Allison. We enjoyed lunch at Sweet Life Cafe, followed by much hanging out, gabbing, and playing back at home. In the late afternoon we dressed both girls in beautiful tutus, one of which was a http://myallisonswonderland.etsy.com creation by Caitlin (!!) and took lots of pictures, some of which may end up on the interweb promoting Caitlin's amazing creations.

friends and fun

this morning Chloë must have known we had places to be and needed our rest because after nursing at 5:45am she went back to bed until 9:15am! She's never slept much past 8am so it was a sweet surprise when I looked at the clock and realized it was 9am and she was still asleep. We got ready to go to Jess' house to see all our friends, and Chloë insisted on getting all decked out. So we put on her pink Ralph Lauren shirt dress, white tights and her furry boots. We had a great time talking, eating, and playing, and it was wonderful to see everyone. All the babies look so much bigger, and are much more interactive, and all the mothers looked beautiful! I really had a fantastic time, and Chloë enjoyed herself too, despite the fact she screamed when Allison touched her face. Not sure what the big deal was, but it happened twice, and both times Chloë was NOT amused. However, she did feel entitled to touch Allison's face. After a fun morning with babies, I went to Sweet Life with Bridgie for ice cream and some gossiping while Josh stayed at home on daddy duty. I made it home just in time for a nice walk with the two of them.

All in all, it was a WONDERFUL Saturday! More, please!

making friends

today Chloë met Allison, Caitlin's daughter. The girls hung out and seemed to enjoy each other's companies as Caitlin and I talked for HOURS and HOURS about nothing and everything.

It was entertaining to see a 5 week old baby next to my 6 week preemie baby and see the size difference..though Allison was born two weeks past her due date--but still I forget how small Chloë is at times.

Regardless of how funny (but adorable!) they looked together, we all had a great time and it was so nice to talk to another new mom about the ins and outs of our early days of motherhood.

PS. if you click on the images you can see them bigger!
